TCB Bank and Tigo are thrilled to announce a new partnership that empowers their customers to easily open, join, and manage Vikoba (rotating savings and credit associations) using mobile phone.

This innovative service revolutionizes how Vikoba are run in Tanzania, granting members greater control over their finances and increased transparency.

Through this collaboration, TCB and Tigo customers can establish new Vikoba and join existing ones using their mobile phones. This simplifies the process of forming and managing Vikoba compared to traditional methods, eliminating the need for physical meetings or handling cash.

Key features of the new Tigo Vikoba service include:

  • Effortless Vikoba Creation: Customers can conveniently establish new Vikoba using their mobile phones.
  • Seamless Vikoba Joining: Members can join existing Vikoba using a unique Vikoba code.
  • Simplified Vikoba Management: Vikoba members can track contributions, payments, and other Vikoba activities through their mobile phones.
  • Enhanced Security: The service utilizes advanced security technology to safeguard Vikoba member funds.

Presently, this new Vikoba service is available to TigoPesa customers. To open or join a Vikoba, TigoPesa customers can dial *150*01# and then select option 7. According to TCB, other mobile networks will soon be able to join Vikoba using your mobile phone.

TCB Bank and Tigo believe this new online Vikoba service will significantly contribute to promoting a culture of saving and community collaboration in Tanzania.
